QCMP's selective Math & Science Program provides an opportunity for students ending their sophomore year and starting junior year, to discover, explore, and experience the realm of science and mathematics through competition based activities at local colleges.  This program is designed to prepare students for a successful Senior year through career and college exploration activities.

How are students selected? 

Additional activities may also include Mandatory Parent Orientation prior to the start of the program; Information for student participants on scholarships/financial aid, careers, and attending the QCMP Youth Leadership Conference and College/CareerFair. 

Students are nominated for the program by a high school counselor or teacher, please contact the Counseling Department at 1 of the local high schools listed below for more information as spaces are limited. 

The selection process begins during a student’s

sophomore year in the Spring. 

Competitions begin during the students junior year.

The study of computing, programming, and computation in correspondence with computer systems. This field of study utilizes theories on how computers work to design, test, and analyze concepts. Computer science usually has a stronger mathematical foundation than a scientific one and on some occasions may not focus directly on computers and their systems


The process of utilizing knowledge and principles to design, build, and analyze objects. Engineering is a necessary element for most items that require construction and has several branches of expertise including civil, electrical, mechanical, and chemical. Some fields have such a high demand for engineering that positions have been formed that solely deal with the engineering aspect of a project.


Health science encompasses a variety of sub-disciplines, all of which relate to the application of science to health. Both traditional, Western and alternative medicine can be considered health sciences. Because humans have always needed to deal with illness, it could be said that health science has existed for as long as humans have. The field includes the study of medicine, nutrition and other health-related issues and the affect they may have on both humans and animals.
